This is a review article on Larry Ferlazzo's blog. As a new learner of blogging, I am going to give some comments on it in several aspects.
Organisation and Layout
The main visual colour palette of this website is blue, which is a color that calms people's minds. Its page design is clean and clear. And there are also some colorful preview images for every article which grasp visitors' attention to clip and read. In a word, I think it is good in layout and I could learn a lot from it.
Content and Features
The articles in this blog contain a wide range of topics. At first, the contents were mainly on language learning, and then the blogger gradually began to post articles on the teaching of other subjects as well as the news on the field of education. This also indicates that the blogger has been trying to attract visitors with a background as educators to read.
Ease of use
Yet the overabundance of content also makes it difficult for readers to find what they want to read. Although the blogger tries to help the reader with a guide, the guide itself is not concise. For example, when setting up the hyperlink to a certain article, the author posts the original title directly, which produces a visual repetition part too and makes finding the content of interest a chore.
Hi Yuqi,
ReplyDeleteInterestingly, you mentioned Larry's blog background colour that connected with helping people's minds calm down. In addition, I agree with your point about how the author named his articles. Yeah, I think their names are quite repetitive. My suggestion is that I think your blog background is simple. In detail, you could add some colour or pictures if you want. It depends on you though.
All best,
Kailin.
Hi Yuqi Great that you have started your blog and made your first post - well done. The layout is clear and easy to read with bold subheadings that are easy to follow. One suggestion is perhaps to choose a colour for your subheadings to match your background as that would make them stand out even more! The review is fair and truthful which gives your reader a lot of confidence in you as a blogger - it's great that you were able to learn a lot from Larry Ferlazzo's blog - things to avoid as well as things to imitate! Perhaps in the next post you can embed a YouTube video as that is a useful way to strengthen your message on a blog. Good work so far - keep it up!
